Outright sale to a buying dealer
Some dealers buy stock outright: fastest and lowest risk, with immediate payment and no listing work, though the offer sits below retail because the buyer absorbs authentication, presentation and storage. Please note that WDW does not buy memorabilia and cannot make offers.
Auction consignment
Potentially higher on exceptional pieces with competing bidders. Against that: seller's commission, possible lotting and photography fees, an unsold-lot risk, and typically a two to four month wait between consignment and payment.
Private sale
Highest headline price and the most work. You carry the authenticity dispute risk, the payment fraud risk and the packing and shipping burden on fragile glazed items.
Preparing anything for sale
Gather certificates, receipts and provenance. Photograph the full item in even daylight plus a close crop of every signature. Do not clean, reframe or retouch anything before you get advice.
