Signed shirts
Shirts carry the strongest emotional pull and dominate wall space when framed. They cost more to frame properly, need protection from light, and authentication should consider both the signature and the shirt itself — match-worn, player-issue and replica are three very different propositions.
Signed photographs and montages
Photographs are the best value entry point and the easiest to display. A montage — several photographs and signatures in one presentation — gives a bigger visual impact for the money, and multi-signed montages of complete casts or squads are usually the scarcest pieces we handle.
Three-dimensional items
Boxing gloves, footballs, cricket bats and instruments make outstanding centrepieces but demand deep display cases, more careful handling and greater storage space. Ink on leather is also more vulnerable to abrasion than ink on photographic paper.
Resale demand
Across the trade, well-framed photographs and full-cast montages sell fastest because they suit the widest range of homes. Very large shirts and bulky three-dimensional items appeal to a narrower buyer pool, which can slow resale even when the piece is exceptional.
